• First Use — Seasoning: Before first use, rinse the pot with boiling water, then fill with water and a small amount of your chosen tea and bring to a gentle simmer for 10–15 minutes — this opens the clay pores and begins the seasoning process
• Pu-erh & Black Tea: Fill with fresh cold water, place over a low flame, bring to a full boil, add your tea leaves, reduce to a gentle simmer for 2–3 minutes, then pour directly into cups
• Oolong: Bring water to 90–95°C (just before a full boil), add oolong leaves, steep off the heat for 2–3 minutes, then pour
• Ongoing Seasoning: After each use, rinse with hot water only — never use soap on a seasoned clay teapot, as it will strip the accumulated tea oils and reset the seasoning
